So one of my family members got this phone yesterday and because its running sense ui and its a sprint phone I'm not to good with it, because i've only had the original droid and now the droid 3 (verizon).

what i wanted to know was when will this phone get Sense ui? its running gingerbread and its hardware is definitely good enough so why doesn't it have sense 3.0?

It won't get it because sense UI is made by HTC unless you root and find a sense 3.0 rom

Sense 3.0 is built for tablets not phones. Now this doesn't mean they can't run it but it's purpose is for tablets.

Which tablet? My Flyer tablet has Sense 2.5 and my wifes EVO3D has Sense. 3.0.

Evo Shift currently has 3.0 as well. It received it when it was upgraded to Gingerbread. My wife, sister, mom, and dad all have one.

I think he meant Android 3.0 (honeycomb) not Sense 3.0. Honeycomb was made for tablets only.

Haha yea I was in the middle of a meeting bored and playing on my phone. My apologies. Might I add its Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Sense 3.0 is just sense 3.0

Like stated tho, there are custom 2.1/3.0 hybrid and full 3.0 custom roms out there but you have to be rooted of course. The Evo can run it, but it's not the greatest. Our phones are getting out dated and believe it or not, the Evo Shift is more powerful than the OG Evo.

If you partition the SD card and free up some room on the phone, Sense 3.0 flies on the EVO4G....my phone is faster than it was when it was new with no apps on it. Seriously.

Yes, the shift is faster...but useless to me ;)
