And they will just tell you that you should uninstall the app and reinstall it. Then when you do and it still doesn't work they will blame the app. I've been through this with them for two different apps.

Yep. But the purpose of contacting them is not to get it "fixed" now, because there is nothing short of an update that can do anything to fix it. It is to make your discontent heard in hopes that maybe something will be done about it eventually.
