Sense 5 + 4.2.2 update soon?

Sense 4+ allows a preview of text messages on the lock screen including sender and the first two lines of the text... usually enough to decide if it's worth opening your phone.

I do not know how I missed the "productivity" lock screen. Thanks for the response.

I wanted to give a little feedback on my experience so far running newtoroots 4.2.2 Sense 5 ROM. It's only been 24 hours since flashing and after the battery settled down (was draining fast for 8 hours) everything has been very stable. Haven't found any app's or things that wouldn't work. I'm able to send and receive MMS, GPS locks fast, Google Voice works, and even NFL mobile works which wasn't suppose to work for rooted users (unless they changed). haven't lost data once however I'm in a pretty strong 4G area and some have said problem seem to happen in weaker signal areas. Only real problem I've noticed is the calculator widget needs to be res-sized because the bottom is cut off.

I'm VERY HAPPY to be running Sense 5 on 4.2.2 on my beloved DNA

If you want to try you must follow these steps to ensure you don't have any issues.
Download all the files.
adb reboot recovery
Create backup (if you want)
Wipe factory reset-advanced : dalvik, cache, system
Install 3.0.0.zip
Wipe dalvik/cache
Reboot system now.
After booted
adb reboot recovery
Install 3.0.1-patch.zip
Reboot system now
adb reboot recovery
Install camcorder and what ever else.
Reboot system now.
Set phone up and let your battery settle may take a few hours.

Do you have to manually change from WiFi to data to send or receive mms? I really want to try this Rom, but I'm thinking of waiting until the one comes out on Verizon for another patch. If it is stable enough, though, I'm interested in giving it a try. Do you have any screen shots?

Your right WiFi has to be off or disconnected to send mms not sure about receiving. Also a small bug where your data bars on your notification bar are always full but to me no big deal. I was just worried about data cutting out but it hasn't, its been very stable.

I was planning on waiting too but yesterday got bored and decided to give it a try. Its going to be my daily driver for awhile now.

I use mms way too much to have to turn WiFi on and off every time :-( I'm thinking I still might give it a try. Hmm.

Btw, I would remove that second screen shot, or blur out your email from the top left.

I want to make the jump too, but I haven't yet because of the data issues. How's Bluetooth working for you?

Haven't tried blue tooth and rarely ever use it but I'll try later in my Jeep and I'll let you know.

Just use newts 2.0.3 Jennifer, it might only be 4.1.2 and Sense 5, but it is rock solid on my DNA.

Hey Jennifer....when u r surfing the internet does your back button for going back a page work good?....seems like I have to hit the back capacitive button three or four times to go back one page...I'm on 2.0.1 also

It seems to be working well enough, atleast, I haven't seemed to have any issues with the capacitive buttons. Sometimes I miss them and have to double press, but it's not something I would attribute to the ROM.

I'm thinking of flashing a new kernel to see if I can get sweep and less cap button lag.

I've switched to the 4.2.2 Sense 5 Rom. So far, it is definitely stable and very smooth. But a few things I have noticed:

There is no developers options in the settings. This means I can't disable the obnoxious animations when turning the screen off, going through screens, etc.

There is no button remap, but the black menu bar is gone. This means that apps that do not institute their own menu bar, IE, android central forums app, do not have a menu. Therefore, I cannot refresh without having to back out of the menu and relaunch. Annoying to say the least.

Have to disable WiFi and enable data to send an mms.

Hope the release of the Verizon HTC one helps fix this.

Good evening Jennifer, newts rom is now 4.2.2 with Sense 5. Button remap now works, and I have yet to check on the advanced developer options for the animations.

I'm downloading 3.0.2 right now. Somehow I guess I'm only running 3.0.0, which is weird, since I just flashed this last night lol. I must have flashed an older version of it.

Update: I dirty flashed 3.0.2 and it seems the recent button is now remappable. Thank you :-) now I need to check for developer options.
