How's everyone liking the keyboard on this one? I actually really like it. It's nice to look at, which is more than I can say for almost any keyboard I've used other than the one on Windows Phone, and I really like that they included swype style writing on it. I actually look for reasons to type on it.

Though, it doesn't handle words with repeating letters well. Like "Look" or "Beep." Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I know with swype you loop the letter to make it indicate it's a double letter, but it doesn't seem to work on this one. Any suggestions on that? It's probably my only complaint with it.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I like the keyboard quite a bit. I've been using it since yesterday and haven't been compelled to install a different keyboard yet. I can type at quite a good speed on it...so much so that last night my brother in law said I typed on my phone like a teenage girl lol.

I actually like it more than I thought. I typically use swiftkey because stock android and samsung's was just bad. But I'm surprised at how good this is relatively speaking and also the emoji being built in is good as well. I also don't like to install 3rd party solutions if the stock is good. Some people like some 3rd party apps and stick with them regardless of the phone. For instance, the message app is sufficient so no need in installing handcent for me.

I'm just happy that I have the option for arrow keys on it. Coming from an iPhone4, trying to move the cursor back a character or two was a frustrating experience.

This is something that drives me nuts on my HTC Arrive(WinMo7) AND my Nexus 7 tablet. It can be almost impossible to move just ONE space back

Well after multiple trips to the store to check out this phone (still debating to upgrade from my EVO lte) today I noticed how well the keyboard is. I can type faster because it simply seems to know.

Still can type faster on SwiftKey though

I havent even tried the keyboard ha Swiftkey was the first app i installed, i love it! I know that wasnt exactly what was being asked but for anyone that doesnt like it, swiftkey is very good :)

I like it but I don't understand why you can only have arrow keys in portrait mode. I could really use them in landscape. Why would that not be a choice? :(

My only issue with it was after hitting predicted word at the top you still had to hit space bar before typing next word, with swiftkey once you hit word, space was automatic so you can just start typing next word....drove me nuts so I installed swiftkey, maybe I missed something in the settings

I think the keyboard is really excellent, and coming from a former BlackBerry QWERTY diehard that is no faint praise.

One question - something which has me scratching my head and which I'd welcome advice on - what are the arrows referred to for selection? I don't think I see these, or can make these, appear at all?!?

Funnily enough, that drove me nuts after about five minutes of using swiftkey and made me try the stock keyboard - I was trying to type an initalled acronym and almost wanted to kill myself!

I prefer it swiftkeys way, automatically adding space because for very common phrases I only need to hit the predictive words in a row without touching keyboard at all....it knows me so well, or maybe I repeat myself to much lol

I am trying out swiftkey, it is overall a phenomenal upgrade over swype that I had been using for about 2 years, but there are some words it just wont type.

What do you do to fix that?

if you type a word it doesn't know there will be a red line under it, if you click it you'll see an option to "add to dictionary" then it will know it next time you type it
