Separate phone ringtone and notification volume?

Coming from a Samsung, I was baffled to see that the pixel does not separate ringtones and notification tones. At work I don't want my notification tones to be so loud where it bothers my coworker, yet I need my ring volume to be up so I can hear my work calls.

Has anyone found a good app that can separate the 2? Or, do we just deal with it not being separated?

Thanks

There's an app on play store

also there is an old thread about same query which lots of people answered and solved this.

Here's one way I utilize Sound Profile: I have a profile designed for when I am sleeping that silences all notification sounds but allows the phone to ring, but only from my family (an extra feature that can be setup). I rarely receive a call overnight but if I do it's probably important, especially with kids in college. Emails or whatever can wait until morning.

I work an overnight shift at a 24/7 small boat assistance and towing operation. The emergency line is forwarded to my cell phone in the evenings and I am able to sleep if not busy but have to be awakened when a call comes in. Since I'm expecting important calls I'm a light sleeper however, and any errant text or notification wakes me up.

I desperately wish I still had the feature to separate the two volumes easily, as I did before I switched from Samsung to Pixel. It's my ONLY complaint with the Pixel family honestly, and I can't believe Samsung was ahead of that curve.

I do understand the work-around with the Do Not Disturb settings, but its definitely not as intuitive to set-up, and I have paranoia about it failing me and missing an important call that could be a life threatening emergency on the water.

Why do I remember back in the day on the Nexus phones we had the ability to click a radio button or something that would make ringtone and notifications equal? Meaning, you were able to separate them at the time.

I really hope they do allow the ability to separate ring and notification volume. I'm still baffled why they think both need to be at the same volume??

'Hoping' doesn't mow the lawn; if you are unhappy with the current implementation then send feedback to Google. If enough people send them feedback then perhaps they will change the design.
Settings -> Tips & support -> Send feedback
Or press the Volume rocker, select the gear icon, select the question mark in the upper right corner of the Sound screen then Send feedback.

I use Tasker to set my Notification and Ringer volumes when I'm in range of my work WiFi. It works pretty good

Is there an app that allows you to take a ringtone and save it as a lower decibel sound? My kids can be watching a video on my phone at high volume and you can barely hear it, when the notification tone goes off you can hear it three rooms away.

There are a bazillion Ringtone editors in the Google Play Store; I'm sure that some of them (ex. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.herman.ringtone) allow you to adjust the sound level of the Ringtone. Just depends on how much work you want to put into it, particularly if you want to use the stock sounds.
You are aware that the media volume (used for listening to videos) is a different setting from the Notification volume, right?

Unfortunately I see there is no longer a Sound Profile available on GP. Thanks for the recommendation though

As far as I can tell the app is still on Google Play. Was just updated in December and still operational on my Pixel and Pixel 3.Screenshot_20200110-072303.jpeg
