'Seraching For GPS' Notification every time I unlock - Lollipop

I like the fact that it tells me when an app is accessing my gps.

Finally some common sense.. Annoyed, that could be the answer to about 10 things with this new POS lollipop OS. I'm at home so I KNOW I AM CONNECTED TO "IRISH1120" I have wifi on and I have the best Netgear AC3200 router on the market, Stop telling me I am connected to IRISH112 EVERY-SINGLE-TIME I LITE MY PHONE.. And as to you post, I have location on, I know you are finding me at all times, I don't need you to tell me EVERY-SINGLE-TIME I LITE MY PNONE.. Without my glasses, I can't tell if I have a new VM or Text msg because that stupid location notice comes up.
LASTLY..Annoyed, you are the first person to write something with meaning.. every post above you is just adding a dumb comment and not addressing the issue. the ***** VidJunky says, probably check or uncheck a box in settings... No **** brainless. what option in settings and what box to uncheck/check. That is the reason we came here, to find an answer, not to read what we already know, we have to change something in settings but are looking for an answer.

I found that going to Location Settings and switching to Power Saving fixed it for me.

Yes, but then you have turned off GPS and are only using the mobile network and any wifi for your location. I hate this OS and wish I could go back to my previous version. Also, my battery lasts about 1/3 of what it did before this "upgrade."

I was seeing the same issue with the GPS notifications on the lock screen. I long pressed the location (gps) on the status bar and then selected the Weather Channel and unchecked the notifications check box, so far I haven't seen the "searching for gps" notification on the lock screen.

Can you tell me if it's possible to have the GPS on without the phone showing that it's searching for gps in notification bar ?
