Serenity for Google TV is a Plex Media Server client primarily developed for the TV but it works just as well on Android Tablets with a dp density of 200 or higher. The app allows for playback and browsing of your TV Show and Movie library stored on a plex media server. You can also download videos to the device for playback with an external video player like MX Player. The application also gives you control over what app plays back your content. You can use the internal player or an external player of your choice.

The interface is similar to what you would find in a HTPC environment, and is influenced by a variety of skins for both Plex and XBMC. The application is open source, and is for sale in the play store, but users can test drive development versions for free on the project web site.

Version 1.0.2 is now in the play store. If you have a Plex Media Server, and a tablet or very high dpi on your phone, give it a try. Development versions are available for free from the projects web site.

Here is a YouTube video demonstrating Serenity. This same interface is available on the tablet version as well. Contemplating a name change to be just Serenity for Android. Version 1.1.1 is in the Google Play Store now. This version adds native Subtitle playback support.
