Hi everyone,

I had been considering rooting my nook ever since I bought it, but like many I waited and waited on the BN update 1.2. Well, I am totally disapointed in the update, the apps are minimal and from what I gather more expensive than at the android marketplace.

So my question is this, if I updated to 1.2 is the a way to root it, or do I have to wait for a new autoroot.

And my second question is, what should I be rooting with, Froyo, Gingerbread cm7 or honeycomb.

I would rarther not lose too much functionality from my stock nook.

I'm pretty tech savy, and went out for a new SD card today to come home and root my nook, then after reading post after post I got so confused.....PLEASE PLEASE HELP !!!!

If I were you I'd just build an alternate boot on your SDcard. There is a lot to read up on about it but it's not all that difficult. You will preserve your warranty if you don't mess with your internal stuff.
I made a thread called ( How - To : CM7 to SDcard with easy updating) about it. Just use the search.

Neo,

I was planning on running it from my Sd Card, but will it work aftet eh 1.2 update? Is your CM7 still running?

The 1.2 update won't affect running a different version on the SD card. After the update I put my SD card back in and CM7 was working normally.
