So I just watched this video on YouTube and the guy putting the 5x through its paces says that after he has installed and set up with his apps he has noticed some serious lag...has anyone else noticed this? With a 1080p screen snap dragon 808 and 2gb of ram that should be plenty enough to keep this phone snappy..what do you think of this? Can he just have a faulty unit? Here's the link to the video https://youtu.be/yRleMyETuXE

I haven't watched the video so don't know where he is seeing lag specifically but I haven't had any. I did a bit of quick app switching and its as quick as anything else I've used. Let's see in a while but there are many reasons he may have seen lag.

It lags for about 20 seconds when it switches to battery saving mode (The N4 I came from just switched the headers to orange and continued as if nothing had happened..).. if you are using it at the time its very annoying especially if you are typing. #

Other than that its been fine for me.

Can you explain a little more about this power saving mode? What triggers it to automatically activate?

I wouldn't worry too much about this "seriously lag" comment. most review and hand on says the phone is fine. it does have some hiccups once in awhile, but no one mentioned it being seriously lag.

Same as lollipop..
When the battery gets to a set percentage (15% by default on the 5x) it goes into power saving mode (with the orange notification shade).. Which on the Nexus 4 I had previously was a seamless transition (it just slowed the cpu frequency), on the Nexus 5x it causes the phone to stutter for 20 seconds (I assume its shutting down some/all of the fast cores and shifting processing to the slower ones)
