So this issue has just started in the last 3 days.
My service in my room is pretty bad as it is but in the last 3 days my phone has been on LTE and then the icon greys out but stays on screen and I have no way to use data at all. It won't go to 3G and it's like the service itself is completely gone. Flipping the phone to Airplane mode kills all connection as it should but the icon still remains on the screen which is not normal at all.
In the last 2 days the same thing has been happening with my normal non data service. The bars plummet to zero and go up to like 1 or 2 but I still can't even send a text let alone make a phone call.
The only way I have gotten it to reconnect is a power cycle.
