Today my girlfriend texted me saying she was almost to my house and when she got there she said why didnt you text me back? and i said i never got your text?.... so she texted me again... no text

i turned my phone off and then back on and i got a couple emails and both of her text messages... is this a common droid problem.. my specific device problem that needs to be exchanged with verizon? or is this going to be covered in that patch in december?

Usually text messages that are delayed or not delivered at all fall on the carriers. Is your girlfriend on Verizon? If not I'm gonna go with Sprint?

nope she is on verizon.. but hers werent the only ones that didnt come through a couple more came through also ... one from a friend on another carrier and the other is also from verizon

There is no known issue with SMS messages being delivered on the Droid. I send a ton of SMS and have had zero delays to any carriers. First do a battery pull and then if the behavior continues, give Verizon a call.

I agree. I used to have AT&T and I could go hours and then get 3 or 4 texts just from my fiance. We thought it was just cuz she was on VZW and I on AT&T but now that I'm on VZW too it still happens occasionally.

i had some really delayed texts come in (like 8 hours delayed) the other day. so did a few other friends who are on verizon.

it could be a service related issue since we all have different phones, a droid, a tour, and a generic dumbphone.

Yes. I can replace or remove the default notifications on my Nexus 4.
