Setting Default Video App?

Hi there,

I have this video player set as default Screenshot_2019-04-04-17-31.jpg when playing videos out of the Gallery. It's simple and works great.

I have a video recording app called Cinema_fv-5 that I like a lot, but when attempting to
associate a player with it ... it doesn't show me to option to choose my usual video player.
(the one in the screen shot)
An other way to say this is that after recording a Video there is a little "Play" button
on the screen inside of fv_5 and when I hit that "Play" button I'm given the option to choose an app.

It shows, Gallery, Google Photos, Firefox, and Samsung Print service, none of which work as a video player.

Is there a way to force the connection between Cinima_fv_5 and my usual video player?

Thanks,

Steve

Unfortunately, nope. This is either calling for the wrong file type or has something wrong in the code. Only the app dev could change that. But if you select Gallery, can you see the video? Once you save the video in the app, does it show in your Gallery and can play from there? If it saves the videos as an unsupported format that might also be why you don't see it in the list.

Selecting Gallery doesn't work. It just shows some kind of 'failed to play' notification.
Google Photos just shows a still shot. I didn't try firefox or the Samsung print service.
Once it's in the Gallery, then yes, it's playable and launches the default video player shown in the screenshot.

I'll contact the developer.
It's not a major issue, just a slow down, having to close the Video Camera and then go to Gallery to see how it went.
Thanks for getting back to me.
