Is there a way to ensure that the S5 will use only wi-fi for downloading content from Play Store, and other data-intensive services, but only use cellular data for things like phone calls and text messages? I want to leave wi-fi on all the time, along with the cellular service, but want to make sure that for large downlading (apps, content) it only uses my wi-fi and not my cellular data. Is there a way to ensure this and premanently set it? The phone has 4.4.2 KitKat on it and it's from Verizon Wireless.

There is the option to turn mobile data off. This will only leave calls, voicemails, and texts coming through your carrier's network.
(Settings > Data Usage (Slide to off.))

Alternatively you can go to the Play Store > Settings > Look in the "General" section for "Auto-update apps" can be set to Wi-Fi only.
