Setting Up My Android Auto and Some Questions

I just purchased a new Cadillac XTS and a friend of mine introduced me to the Android Auto he is using in his Audi A-7 and I was impressed. Especially with the detail of the Nav display which was showing in satellite view. So yesterday I picked up a Google Pixel, loaded the app and plugged in. Suprising all went well except for two issues:

1) No matter what I do I can not get the nav display to show in satellite view. I have it on the phone but it won't display in the car.

2) If I go to set destinations on the phone there are about 12 entries that I have no idea how they got there. I recognize them as places I've been in the past year or so but have never been entered as a destination.

So, if anyone can help me set up the map to show a satellite view on the nav screen and how to get rid of the old destinations it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there.

I've had a very limited time testing Android Auto in a 2017 Honda Civic Touring, but I can help you out with satellite view.

Long story short, on vehicle head units, there doesn't seem to be an option for one. Weirdly, however, the app itself has satellite view when run on the device itself.

Were you successful in getting the satellite view to display on the nav screen?? I have it OK on the phone but not the screen.

I still need to delete the destinations if you have any idea how to do that.

Sadly, I don't have a car that supports AA in my garage right now. The Civic Touring was a test drive.

I may have to redownload Android Studio to access the Android Auto emulator to help.

Though I've checked around and it seems that for the in-dash mode, satellite view isn't present.
