Setting wallpaper?

I cant figure this out, every time I go to set the wallpaper it makes me crop the image way down then it looks like crap. Im using 1280 x 800 images. Am I missing something here? :-\

Yea i noticed that too. Also noticed it looks better in portrait mode.

I am also having the same issues, I need to do the digging around on my own and do some editing in Photoshop to see if I can get the correct resolutions. I think it is going to be hard to get the resolution correct because you have to compensate for both land scape and portrait. I find that it looks a lot better in portrait (ie cropping is not as bad), but it is designed to use mostly in landscape.
