Settings shutting down whenever i try to open security?

[Android Central Question]

Every time i try to open my security settings it says 'unfortunately settings has stopped' and offers to try and fix the problem. I'v tried force stopping the app and clearing data, but they both just close settings and don't delete\force stop. My phone is a lenovo, idk the exact model but at least five years old, and running lollipop 5.0.1

Can try settings>apps>system apps>settings clear data then force stop , if still problem try factory reset . Dont forget this is cery outdated Android version so some things not going work anymore.
