What would cause a rapid battery drain like this? It happens every now and then and I cannot find an app causing it. I have wi-fi shut off when it goes to sleep, so no data transfer should be occurring. Anyone else experiencing this? How would I go about finding the cause?

I'd be concerned about a failing battery. How old is your tablet? Also, was it by any chance sitting somewhere very warm, like inside a car parked outside during the day? High temps can discharge a battery pretty quickly.

It stays in an air conditioned house all day, so it's not the heat. If the battery was truly failing, it would do this every time it was charged I would think, but it happens sporadically....about once every 2 to 3 weeks.
Thanks

That's true. But the drop seems too precipitous to be due to an app. Maybe the battery has some loose connections? If you're feeling brave, you could try popping the back cover off and checking all of the connections.

I just upgraded to 4.4.3, so I will wait to see if it still does it.
