SG3 to Nexus5: How do I share content with my Samsung TV now?

Hi folks

After having had a hard time with a very crappy SG3, I am a very happy user of the Nexus 5 for two months now.
The only thing I miss a little bit is the easy way in which I could share my pics, movies etc to my Samsung TV (I have got a UE55ES8080 at home).

I tried to find apps like Samsung Allshare Play or something like it in the Playstore, but most of them are very badly rated and users recommend you to keep your fingers off them.

I definitely won't spend even more money on a Cromecast stick. Hey, I already got a TV that's supposed to be "Smart".

So any infos would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I like the Nexus community. Gives me memories back to my good old WebOS days, writing in forums with people with good taste of OSes ... then and now.
cya!

If compatible, give the official Samsung apps a try, and if they fail or aren't compatible, get yourself a dongle, possibly Chromecast, and see if that gets the job done

Chromecast. Chromecast is awesome and cheap.

The OP is exactly the reason I hate proprietary-anything.

Thanks for all your answers. I actually didn't want to buy chromecast, but maybe I will. First I'll try a few of the Allshare apps from playstore.

Yea, try AllCast.
If that doesn't work, I strongly suggest investing in Chrome Cast. It's only $35 (maybe even cheaper if you look hard) but you get soooo much in return. Now that Google added screen-mirroring, it's pretty much a complete product that will work on ANY monitor with HDMI.

AllCast seems to work nicely. Albeit it doesn't stop working, which means, when I leave the app, there is still an icon top left telling me it is still running. I have to "force" its ending. ...
But else it does what I want. thx.
