Sg3 wont connect with windows 8

Hey everyone, first post... Unfortunately its for help lol

Just got a new laptop running Windows 8 64bit, and it won't recognize my sg3

Tried the proper driver, installed kies, still nothing.
Phone/device not showing in device manager either.

Would really like to get it setup to sync /xfer files

Sg3 is running slimbean 4.1.2

Any ideas?

Try using Kies Air or any one of the other bazillion apps that allow you to establish a browser connection to your S3.

Kies isnt working for me :/

Ok, my wife's rooted sg3 on stock ics works, but my slimbean 4.1.2 doesn't... Any ideas?

Mate dont worry my phone was never recognised in kies on windows 8, I went back to windows 7 and I was fine, im not sure why it doesnt get recognised. Maybe samsung will update kies soon to make it work.

Well right now kies isn't compatible with my phone /rom

In using airdroid which is OK but i Am strongly leaning towards w7. W8 is a joke in every aspect

That's weird I'm on slimbean 4.2.1 and my phone connects to my windows 8 PC fine. I didn't even have to install the drivers or kies.

Then again I booted into twrp recovery and enabled USB mode through there.
