SGII won't sync with Gmail

Backed up my iPhone contacts through google/gmail in iTunes. But SGII will not sync them, only has the contacts that have been on the sim for 3 years (before i had an iPhone.

edit - ok this is odd, I have a ton of contacts on my iPhone. But for whatever reason, iTunes won't sync them, it's only synching the 64 contacts that are on the sim card to my Gmail account as I just checked my contacts list. No idea why it won't work??

I was having problems for a couple hours earlier today...I'm wondering if it's a gmail issue?

Also, make sure you look in settings--->accounts and sync---->click your email---->make sure the correct options are checked

yeh already went through that, tried a few things... gmail will not sync contacts from itunes.... ughh
