SGP STEINHEIL ULTRA CRYSTAL Review

It say a lot about a product when you are willing to defend it like that. :)

When you have paid almost 60 on screen protectors then you begin to have a passionate un biased review and will defend the results . i can talk becaus ei have both :)

today i notice that in the sun the Steinheil seemed abit cloudy. i think it has something to do with the thickness. definatly seidio Usg is the way to go

Awesome. I ordered my Seidio protectors today. I also ordered the rugged case (it comes with a screen guard, innocase II, silicon sleeve, and plastic skeleton all in one.) I'll let everyone know what I think of that when it comes in.

yeah let me know i have the innocase 2 but i would like to see the rugged case as well

I bought the Steinheil anti-fingerprint as well as the ultra crystal clear. I first put on the anti-fingerprint one which worked fine indoors but when I took it outdoor, it reduced glare but also made the screen pretty much unusable. So I removed that one and put the ultra crystal one on. Both of them were very easy to put on. The clear one definitely looks nice. I can't tell a difference in the screen indoors and it seems to be fine outdoors like it was without a protector. There is a little traction feel on the screen when sliding my finger across it slowly. Quick swipes seem to be very smooth. And I tried writing a message with Swype and it was no problem. Didn't seem any different than when the screen was bare.

Also, the ultra crystal seems to not show fingerprints as easily as the bare screen. We'll see how it holds up.

Thanks for the info. So with the anti-fingerprint one on you couldn't see the screen outside enough to use the phone? If that's the case I'm glad I skipped it. If I would've heard different I woulda got that one too.

Yes, it was very hard to see anything on the screen outside. I even peeled it back half way when I was outside to see the difference. The matte finish just seems to distribute the light across the screen so you don't get a direct reflection but a glow over the screen which obscures what you're looking at. I'd never used that kind of screen protector before so I thought I would try it out. I'm glad I ordered both at the same time.

As a new member to the Android community, it is really great to get this kind of feedback from experienced users. As someone who tends to overthink every purchase, this forum has been a huge help.

PRODUCT: Comes with 2 Screen protector

EARLY REVIEW: I recieved my SGP STEINHEIL ULTRA CRYSTAL Screen Protector for HTC Evo 4G
Today and after 30 min of installation i finally got it on perfect. i will post some more pics tommorrow after i get some better sunlight to snap some photos i will compare my review with the Seidio screen protector that i have as well .. Right now the Seidio one seems to have a slight edge as far as smoothness but i still need to break in the Steinheil . with Steinheil and seidio i needed to install them in the bathroom with the shower on hot and steam to take care of the dust. i tried it without the steam but i had no luck because dust was under the screen with both and i had to wash them and reinstall them.

Furthermore, i am interested in Steinheils claim to have UV protection which Seidio doesnt. I would like to add that Seidio screen protector is Incredible as far as clarity and smoothness i am being totally unbiased as i only got the steinheil because of reputation. with that said i need to wait another day to really give a more acurate review so stay tuned ..

If you guys have any questions feel free to comment ..

I have a Zagg shield on mine but I ordered the Steinheil.... I like the Zagg and I am going to install this in the bathroom with the shower on... With my Nexus One, HD2 and EVO I always end up with ONE or TWO pieces of dust under the screen that I don't fully notice until the sucker is fully dried... Never thought about letting the shower run to reduce the dust....
