About two weeks ago, I got a T-Mobile variant Galaxy S3 (T999L) new from Target (Brightspot Mobile, technically). Couldn't pass the deal up, haha. I've gotten the phone unlocked in the meantime and it works great on AT&T's LTE network.
Anyway, I've noticed a strange problem with the AMOLED screen. If you're viewing something very dark on a low brightness setting, there are some blotches all over the screen.
The only way I could illustrate this was to set my DSLR up on a tripod and take a 60-second exposure of the screen on a pure black image.
The dark splotches on the screen are very subtle, but they're there. I don't know if this is a normal problem on the Galaxy S3 or other AMOLED screens, but it's slightly worrying.
Anyone seen anything like this before? Should I be concerned about the durability of the panel itself? Thanks.
