Share contacts between two android phones

My wife has an android phone. There are many apps that sync contacts from one phone to another. Is there an app that allows us to share contacts added to either phone, in the same way that we already share a calendar?

Other than adding each other's Google account and only sync contacts, I doubt it (given contacts are saved in your Google account).
