Share contacts between two android phones

My wife has an android phone. There are many apps that sync contacts from one phone to another. Is there an app that allows us to share contacts added to either phone, in the same way that we already share a calendar?

Add her Google account to your phone or your Google account to her phone. Sync that account's contacts, first on the phone the contacts are on, then on the one they're not on. (They all have to be Google contacts for this to work, not Device, Phone or SIM contacts - which means that if anything happens to the phone, you won't lose your contacts. Don't ask me why "Device" is the default - it's a bad choice.).

Thanks for the suggestion.
Gets me part way there, in that I guess we could do the syncing every week, month, whatever.
As I read it, it doesn't mean that, if I put a contact on my phone, it will be on my wife's phone "automatically" a few seconds later.

The only way you could do that is if both phones share the same Google account for saving contacts.

Well you can make a dummy account for just that specific purpose (syncing contacts).
My wife and I do this for all the family stuff. But it isn't really a dummy account... we created a public one for Shared contacts, calendar for activities and even gmail for school and sports. It is cleaner and more secure than logging into each other's accounts on your phones. I like the dummy account idea though.

This seems like the best and simplest way. Just create a third account for all shared contacts and keep phones signed into the third account.
