My apologies, folks. I found some info on a Galaxy S4 forum, but not for the 5, and I've been painstakingly going through this forum page by page in search of an answer.

The GS3 had tons of great effects: duotone, watercolor, sepia, posterize, b&w, etc to add to photos.
The GS5 does not come with that, and when I go to Mode and see effects, it shows no effects and in essence it's greyed out! It won't let me click it and activate it at all.

Is there a way, short of rooting it, to activate it (those effects)? Otherwise, is there a good 3rd party app to add to do this easily? The Samsung Galaxy Apps hub doesn't even seem to have this, and you would think they would!

If anyone can shed light on this, I'd appreciate it. I'll keep digging through these forums.

In the Camera App...click on Setting Gear > (scroll down to find) Effects...in there you can Download additional Effects

I got snapseed but was wondering if anyone can recomment a free photo editing app that can do composits of 2 or more photos?

HEllo, you can use Pic Collage app, it is the best app to making Collage pics.

Some pics I took with my S5 when I had it. The S5 had a great camera better than most of the phones I've had since. Only the S7 edge had a better camera.
