Share your Google now tips.

I've got this solved!

On your computer... go to google, on top right click your account icon, the click Account, Scroll down to the last option under Services: Go to web history. On top of that, make sure its not Paused. (Note google will start collecting all your web history, searches, etc at this point... could be scary, lol)

Also on the phone go to Settings, Accounts, Google, Under Privacy hit Search and you have to check Show recent searches.

I believe that ought to do it. After that ask Searchy to show you the yankee score, and going forward you should have a card in Now, which you can edit in settings :)

That worked.. luv this aspect, got notification after game ended...sweet.
Only downside is 8/10 average people will not put this amount of research into this and won't get to experience android the way it was meant.

Its think most people haven't blocked Google from tracking them in the first place. But most people aren't rocking jellybean right now either. :-)

Butter bean.

Loving the Google jb widget for identifying songs. Don't need shazaam any longer. Was counting the days to when Google would create something to link people to its own market for songs....genius!!

Its working now that you re- enabled or its working working with it disabled?

Just to clarify

Butter bean.

I have to go to the google accounts web page, and enable web history. I had it off or paused. Now that I have google saving search history, it is working.

When I search for sports team sports scores, the sports team pops up on Google Now.

How do we get around the voice activation only working once? What I mean is with Google Now up you say "Google" and it opens a window and lets you ask your question verbally. Then it gives you an answer. But now it's on a different page and no matter how many times you shout "Google" at it you can't ask it anything else. You have to touch the screen to get back to that page, which is not so good for when you're in the car.

Heh, little bug, it just told me the Blue Jays lost to the Angels 2 to 11, when in fact they won. The information displayed visually was correct, it was only the verbal response which was incorrect.

Looks like Google Now is more connected to web history than I realized. I looked up start time for the Yankee game yesterday because somebody was giving away tickets. When the game was over, I got a card notification with the score!

I was disappointed it could not pull the standings for MLB. I asked what place the Pirates were in, and asked what the NL standings were. Sadly no card for that, just a web search.

I have been using it to set alarms, it can't get any easier

Cool feature.
Say "note to self" then your message and it will then email you your note and include a audio version of the note. Its very cool and help full when trying to remember things

Today as I left the grocery store the traffic card showed a notification that it would take 12 minutes to drive home. Didn't need it, but nice. I left Google Now up and the phone in the car mount and it continued to say 12 minutes until I pulled into the garage and shut it off - it never updated. Not so nice.

If I'm not mistaken, the traffic cards are static. You can hit the menu button for Google Now and choose "Refresh" and see that the traffic card would be updated with a different time. I think it is only for info and then you have the link on the card for Navigation if you want it.

That's right, as far as I can tell. Google Now uses the Google Location Services, but doesn't use GPS for live updates to things like the traffic cards.

Information should be live whenever possible. But one can argue that if you want live navigation just hit the navigation link and go to that app. I'll see whether the sports card updates itself during the game tonight.

The answer is: the sports card does not auto-update either.

I do agree that the traffic cards should update in near real-time. Also, this video is a good watch:

Having the cards update in real time would be a huge battery drain, especially for traffic. I would not want that. The sports scores are more tempting, but for me probably not worth the drain.

I find the traffic card cool. Hester on my laptop I looked up the start of The Amazing Spiderman at the local theater. By the time I got to my car, I had a raffia card telling me how long it would take to get the and how much traffic was on the way. I have no need for thatto update, if I wanted that I would go to the nav app.

Say "play (name of band)" it will then give you options as to what app you want to play it from. I chose the music app, it launched the app and began playing a popular song from that artist.
