First Android phone ever for me. Being a long time iPhone user, my initial instinct was to replicate some of the familiar look and feel of what I have been using most recently. Here is a screenshot of my home page:

I've been using that same wallpaper for my phone, computer, and PS3 for quite a while now. Tough to move away from for me for some reason.

The beauty of Android is all the choices you have. You can completely switch things up if you get ready 1387494549706.jpg

Fasho. Even being a longtime iPhone user, I am nowhere near unaware of the idea of modding a phone. Jailbroke all of my iPhone's very shortly after purchase and would have crossed over to Android way earlier if that wasn't an option. So far I am on the fence about rooting this though. Figured I'd get to know how it works running stock for a month or two before thinking more seriously about rooting. My main reason for rooting would be if I became convinced that I could milk substantially better battery life out of this thing by doing so. Ironically, jailbreaking an iPhone hurt both battery life and available memory; seems that this isn't the case with rooting an Android if done properly though.

I started rooting my android phones as I just wanted to switch the font. You need to be rooted to use apps like iFont to change to the plethora of available font choices.

Hopefully this turns out

Here's the latest iteration of my home screen. Wallpaper from Zedge, stick launcher with icons changed using Desktop VisualizerR, clock is Timely. I also used Xposed Framework and GravityBox to make the nav bar smaller and the tweaks to the status bar (battery percentage and centralised clock).

I kind of like this wallpaper and how it looks on my lockscreen.
