Took some 108 today and they look maybe a little crisper then regular, but you can really tell the difference when you crop the photo. The 108 still looks super sharp all the way cropped compared to the regular.
That's what Samsung was saying with crop where other phones can't do that . Glad to hear this

I think some people do not know that you need to select 108MP in the camera settings. The camera is set on 12MP out of the box. Also - regular 12MP setting has 1x to 100x zoom. 108MP setting has 1x to 6x zoom.

Is that 6X optical zoom?

It uses the same lens. The 108 seems to shoot brighter, lower ISO and faster shutter

Thanks. I like hearing all the positives. Early on it seemed like nothing but negative comments for the Ultra.

S20 pretty bad lens flare from sun

Took an 8k video yesterday and it's quite impressive, but a 42 sec video was almost 400mb. Took about 15 min to upload to Snapchat on a decent lte signal. Without stabilization or 60fps you need a steady hand and slow movements. Basically another gimmick like 100x.

Recorded soccer practice tonight. ~90 minutes total. 45 mins at 1080 was fine, but didn't crop well. 35 mins at 4k was great and cropped pretty well. 7 minutes at 8k was beautiful and cropping was incredible. I purposefully filmed at 1.0-2.0 to get the full field and test the cropping. When I film games, I'll likely film somewhat more zoomed in.

The 8k recording maxed out at 4g in ~7 minutes. The 4k recording maxed out at 4g in ~24 minutes. The video doesn't stop once it hits maximum file size (4g), it just starts another file.

The total recording session used about 20% of the phone's battery.

Hard is an understatement. I already don't have a steady hand so the frequent moving around doesn't help lol...
Even 30 is difficult but 100 is almost impossible and hit or miss. It's just the nature of telephoto and at these zoom angles OIS can't save you.

This is at 5x or 10x I can't remember. I have a few zoom shots that look really good but if I look closer there are areas that are completely out of focus. It doesn't make any sense, it has to be a software issue. In this picture it's just in the middle of the picture.
