Got an INCREDIBLE trade in on an old galaxy phone. Traded my S9 in and essentially got a S22 for free. Plus they cut me some slack and gave me further discounts to compensate for some nasty issues I'd been having with being locked out of my account and sim card issues.

Got the green color. Wanted to frame it in snapmod, but they don't have the s22 template yet, unless I just need to update the app.

This is so cool!

Well now the battery is overheating. Got an alert about the battery getting too hot from the phone itself and GSAM kicked off a temp of 106 degrees!!! And it was just in my pocket while I was fishing. Screen has also begun to flicker :/

Oh, no! That's awful! Do you have any suspicions as to what could be the culprit? Have you tried restarting your device to see if a glitch was causing those issues?

Yeah I restarted it the screen flickering appears to have stopped. And for the time being the battery temp is now stable. But it did get up to 100 again while watching some YouTube videos for about 25 minutes. Currently I am not streaming anything and the battery temp is 84 degrees.

I know they said in the reviews thet the device could get warm when charging, streaming, video watching and playing games. But is it abnormal for it to get up to 100 like that?

When it hit 106 earlier while fishing, it was uncomfortably hot and I could feel it burning my leg.

Here are some tips from Samsung. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...port%2Fanswer%2FANS00076952%2F&token=ZY6Su38h

I'm glad the flickering stopped! If the device is too hot to touch, I think that would be cause for concern. Please do not leave it charging in a room unless you are there to supervise.

Keep us posted on what happens!

Reckon they can solve the overheating with a software update? As great as the phone otherwise is, the fact it overheats so easily is a bit disconcerting to me and has me considering swapping for something like a P6 or perhaps seeing if just another S22 unit would suffice.

I really don't want to swap to another device. As besides the phone overheating(and somewhat underwhelming battery), it is a fantastic phone, and now that Samsung has promised 4 years of major OS updates, it would be extremely hard to consider leaving Samsung for me, but will if the overheating FORCES me to.

Also I'm seeing people report better battery performance over time as their device learns their usage, so hopefully I'll see better battery performance as well. Plus I REALLY dig the green with the matte back and glossy frame-- hits the bullseye in my opinion in terms of looking good without being gaudy. The matte back and glossy frame is a great balance of subtlety and "razzle dazzle".

I am inside, @ about 75 but I have been streaming youtube for the last few hours and I am only up to 92 degrees. So not sure. How hot is it outside?

Last couple days it'd been about 80-84 degrees from about 10am through 5 pm, then the air temperature slowly starts falling down into the 70s again. So it's not really been hot, though the humidity has been up around 92-93%, so the air is pretty muggy.

In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power, GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!!!!

One or my favorite members of the Justice League and fitting theme for my green S22.

Taken with my Note 20 Ultra on a camping trip last summer. Ready for my 2022 camping season to begin.
