Another annoying problem I am having with my Note 10 + device. When I go to share a link (can be from the google app or from chrome), I get the sharing panel and select Samsung Messages, then I select a contact and each time I do this instead of it defaulting to the mobile number of the contact to send them a text it defaults to their email address ...sending them a text to their email address???

I am coming from a Google Pixel and I am trying to get familiar with the Samsung apps but this is a really annoying problem. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere? Due to this issue I am unable to share links via text message....I have to copy and paste the link instead which is annoying.

I've not had that happen to me. Mine always share via text.

Ok, I tried following your steps and here is what happened for me.

Opened Chrome. Menu > Share
Tapped Messages from the list of apps
Tapped a contact
Popup screen displayed and asked
- Phone
- Email

The buttons on that dialog were:

Select | Set as default

So on my Note 10+ I was presented with the choice to choose phone number or email. Also whether to set the phone number to be the default.

I set phone as default and now my messaging app is always choosing the phone number instead of a choice between phone or email for the contact in question. Effectively I now have your problem in the reverse

Now for contacts that did not have a phone number, the email address was inserted into the SMS "To" field. The only thing I can figure that might solve your problem is:

Settings > Apps > Email (tap for info) > Set as default > Clear defaults.

Im thinking your email app got set to default for handling all email addresses. We arent talking about GMail right?
