Sharp Aquos s2 merging contacts issue

[Android Central Question]

I got a new Sharp Aquos S2.. got oreo update 8.0 and when i displayed my contacts from Gmail, i see different numbers merged under one contact name in the phone contacts app. while on my laptop in gmail contacts they show correctly.

outgoing and incoming calls are an inconvenience with these merged contacts on my cellphone. helppp

Its Smiles UI and its very simplistic, when i open an account i can see its linked but i cannot unlink it as there is no option - what i did as a come around, i installed google contacts app and started unlinking all manually --- it is not pleasant --- but still in the phones contact app it still shows mixed and matched.

another come around will be that i use google phone dailer and contacts app but i dont want to use this new phone as repaired --- it is painful
