Shield TV P2897 not receiving 4k or HDR from Prime

Our 3 year old Shield TV model P2897 is not receiving 4k or HDR from Prime, just HD. OS is version 8.0.2 (32.5.205.105). I've read there has been patches but I cannot update to those. I can't get with nVidia to ask questions either.

If anyone can please advise I'd appreciate it.
