According to ISN: ".. if you?re wondering what that 2nd package is that you?re receiving ? it?s a free Gel Case for your new HTC EVO 4G LTE! Sprint?s way to say ?sorry for the delay?!"

Wow. That thing is huge compared to poor old EVO 4G. At least it's a whole lot lighter and thinner I guess.

Sitting it next to the OG Evo, it almost looks like it's only half as thick. Definitely very light. It's almost surprising that it's got a full 500 mAh more in battery capacity while being that much lighter.

Ups showed up at my house today too. I didn't know there was a second package. Got a light blue gel case and an apology letter from Sprint! Although I may have to get a new phone. This one keeps disconnecting from 3g and loosing a WiFi signal. My wife's Sprint GS2 and my roomates Sprint iPhone work just fine. I'm going to take it to a Sprint store so they can check it.

Figured I would add some information for anyone who could use it.
First the phone is amazing coming from an OG EVO 4g
to anyone who hasn't recieved it, sorry but it was worth the wait.
I got the blue jelly case today, Blue?
anyway I took it to the sprint store and they allowed be to exchange it for retail price towards any other case.
I got the one with the holster (about $30 minus 23.80 for blue jelly), but I will never use the holster, but the rest of the case is enough protection for me and it solves the ugly two tone deal on the back. With this small case, it is still far slimmer then the OG EVO.

I had to call in to activate, nothing worked until they did it over the phone. the CS rep said I seemed to be the first to have an issue, figures.

Anyway I think it was worth the wait, and thanks everyone for the humor and drama to keep me entertained for the last week!

Agreed. Although after nearly two years, it better be...

Trust me, you weren't the only one, and most likely not the first. There were already others in this thread who said they had to call CSR twice to get their phones activated. I also had to call in, but luckily only once, and it was mostly painless. She did ask me to turn my phone off and remove the battery... I was like, "uh, it's got a non-removable battery..."

That's Sprint services universal fix for phone issues, remove the battery.. I wonder what they can say now that phone manufacturers are starting to make non removable batteries. :D

For those exchanging the free case are you going to corporate stores? The store closest to my house is a franchise and corporate stores are hard to come by here.

I just tried and they told me a corporate store might exchange it but they couldn't. The had some cases but none in their computer inventory.

To those that have swapped the free case for another, did they say you can only swap it for another case? Would I be able to use this to take money off a Media Link?

it was a corperate store, the franchise stores in my aera are a pain to get to, most are in the malls or big box stores. I didn't ask about swapping it for another item but at my store they were happy to assist and actually gave me 20% off toward the new case and the HTC bluetooth stereo adapter. good luck

Just got my hands on this thing and I'm loving it. Three hours in. There will be a few things to get used to I'm sure but what an upgrade coming from the original EVO! And don't even try comparing this thing to the EVO Shift. My wife is seriously jealous.
