Shocking Sensation death grip video

Yeah that could pose a problem definitely when holding the phone landscape. The bad thing is that you have to worry about both the top and bottom of the phone and not just 1 area. I was ready to get this phone too. I will have to see what other news comes out about this. I'm sure it won't be as publicized as the iPhone because people care less about HTC. But let's see what other tech blogs come up with.

I find it strange that there is only one source for all of this despite the handset being extensively reviewed and already in the marketplace in Europe. I have not seen any complaints on the carrier forums either.

This person seems to have focused on finding out if this was a problem, a it clerarly is. Many of the review arent specific like this one. What I mean by this is they are all over the place, reviewing features like sense, browser, etc. Who knows. Maybe this guy has a bum unit but it's still disturbing. Out of all of the phones I have owned, I've seen a slighty decrease in signal but never stuttering and jerking like in this video. Ouch.

We need more than one source for something like this, especially since NONE of the reviews either by tech blogs or customers, have shown anything resembling this.

I do agree we need to see more of this. But I think the issue is that no one is really reviewing that part and we probably won't know until people start reporting it after release if it's really a problem. I think we should start sending the article out to other tech blogs that have reviewed the phone and see if they can test it. Otherwise, we probably won't know. And again, people care less about HTC so it definitely won't be publicized on your local news if it really turns out to be an issue. I'm going to send it to AC, AF, BGR, Engadget and Giz. Sure we know some are biased but facts aren't biased.

It has already been released in Europe but that article remains the only source. There is nothing from customers and nothing on the carrier support forums.

I have a T-Mo US Sensation review unit and I've tried to replicate this problem and can not. No signal drop let alone complete streaming drop when holding the phone flat in the palm or when holding it normallly in 1 hand.

This makes me think that this guys sensation might have problems. However leave it to many tech sites to spread this problem around. A quick google search and you'll see that many are now reporting this.

That's what I meant, many sites are reporting that same link. It's still one person but it seems to be spreading around like its a huge problem.

Good enough for me. Not my only concern will be battery life. HTC hasn't been too kind in this area. From my Nexus 1 to the Incredible, to the EVO and then Thunderbolt all battery terrible battery life. So I'm hoping this is much better with Gingerbread and more efficient processor. Right now, I get great battery life on my G2X so if it's comparable, I'll be content.

I picked up my sensation today and I too can't replicate this problem. I did exactly what the original video shows and it just didn't happen. Rest your worries guys.

Thanks for clearing that up. I fear that this story has gained enough traction to potentially damage the Sensation's reputation before it is even released in the US.
