Shorting app icons in folder

After drag app icons to create a folder in Nexus 5 (non-rooted). How to sort these icons in alphabetical order?

I think you can only do it manually. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you know you can put a folder in your Favorites Bar?
I have a TOOLS folder and a PHONE folder.

You can certainly sort shortcuts within a folder. Just tap the folder to open it, then long-press the icon you want to move, and drag it to where it should be. But there is no automatic alphabetical sorting in the stock UI.
