...have the Project Fi app pre-installed?

I'm trying to port my number over from Sprint, and Project Fi tells me I have to have the Project Fi app on my Pixel 3 to port, and that Project Fi should come pre-installed. Well, it's not there.

I can/will install from the Play store, but if the app is supposed to be there and isn't, it makes me wonder what other apps might be missing...

Thoughts?

I have been on Project Fi for a little over two years, but I've always purchased my phones from the Google Store, not Project Fi, and I've had no issues setting them up on Project Fi. I honestly don't recall having to install the app, or whether it was pre-installed on the phones. I just went through the process.

I wouldn't be concerned about the possibility of missing apps. You're getting a Google phone, it will come with Google apps.

Enjoy your new phone! :D

I wouldn't worry about it :).

It was not preinstalled on my P2XL.

My P3XL was purchased through the Google Store, so I can't verify it's the same, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't be.
