Should have dumped the iPhone sooner

I use my phone for business 75% of the time, and I must say that I dearly love this new phone, probably the android platform in general is the primary reason.

The features and control that you get when you go with this Operating System is beyond my expectations.

So my son which is a Junior in Highschool left the iPhone for the S5 and then I upgraded my wifes phone to the iPhone 6 because she wanted a bigger screen but,, she only uses hers sparingly for very basic features.

Having them side by side for an hour made me realize that there is more out there in terms of phones so I did the deal on Wednesday and 100% at ease with the new phone,,,,,,,, and I particularly love the Nova Prime, DoubleTwist for syncing my growing music library of 6500+ songs, (still waiting on my 128gb micro disc but i have a 64gb disc in currently), and last but not least NiLS for the locked screen notification.

All of the standard apps, books, DropBox, News apps etc work flawlessly, so I'll be hanging around here from now on :D

Congratulations on the switch, and let us know if you have any issues!

I've had mine for a week and so far so good. I'm still getting used to it over iOS and there's little things I miss already but overall there's much more to this operating system that makes me appreciate it. I thought about switching when it was iPhone 5 vs S3 but I think the S3 didn't have enough to offer me back then. I was set on the Alpha over the S5 until I played with both phones for a few hours in store last week when the Alpha was released. I quickly became more attracted to the S5, 32gb internal memory is awesome for the Alpha and it's a great phone but lack of expandable memory was what ultimately made my decision for me. That and the larger battery. I'm really amazed at the battery life with the phone running in ART runtime.

The iPhone 6 is just a larger 5s when it comes down to it. And both (as well as the iPhone 6 Plus) are great phones, no doubt. But I've become accustomed to jailbroken iOS devices and I'd lose this if I went with the iPhone 6. I briefly played with both and while the screens were good on both, I still just didn't feel they were "that great". The amount of control and customization even with stock Android software is amazing compared to Apple devices, even with my phone and iPad both jailbroken they don't compare to the S5. Plus the speed of this thing, it seems like it keeps getting better with the more I figure out/am able to do with the device and software.

I use my device more for multimedia, messaging, and basic internet browsing but customization of my device is definitely key, the functionality of the OS and device itself is a huge bonus and it's there when I need it or want it.
I still feel Apple is a great product and their software is very fluid on their devices, it was just time for a change :)

On that note, Amen brother p! Happy to have made the jump as well

I've been using iphones for 4 years, but after the apple event and iphone 6, I'd decided it is time for a change and yesterday I got the Samsung galaxy s5, for the first hour or so it was a little bit strange using touchwiz, but after I made some things and disabled some useless things the phone is blazing fast and I tottaly love it. The screen is the perfect size for me and the ability to customize is big plus ! :)

Glad to here that. I never had an iPhone but always wondered if I should. Now I'm glad I have this.

I really can't say anything bad about the iPhone. My main complaint is with Apple who limits your out of the box experience by not allowing some apps which will take advantage of your phones full capabilities. In order to do that you have to unlock and jailbreak so you can install Cydia.. Unlocking was easy since I have been a longtime AT&T customer. I called and asked and they unlocked. I was then able to jailbreak..

The problem with this is you can do basicly the same with a stock Android that you have to jailbreak the iPhone in order to do..

My contract comes up in a few weeks and I will then be going back to Android..
