It is much better and from what I've seen its as fast with it on as off. So no point not using it.

Yes. It's extremely fast. I've shot a 70 photo burst in HDR+ auto ans they were all processed within 30 seconds. The camera shutter is instant. It's usually processed by the time you go to look at it. Never seems to slow down either.

I have not seen a good reason to turn it off yet.
