Should I bother that HTC as a company aren't doing too well?

Im new to this device and i must say it's exceptional. It just works for me.

However recently ive seen stories about HTC as a company aren't doing too well and they're making staff cuts etc. Got me worried somewhat, in terms of will I be affected in terms of receiving updates/support from them.

Should i be worried?

I would not worry about it.
Motorola cut 500 jobs at its Chicago HQ.
Im sure samsung may quietly layoff people since they are under performing right now.

I am not worried either. Sooner or later there will be a final update and that's it anyway (I believe things are better now than 3-4 years ago).

When that day comes, the good thing about the M8 is that it is a (relativly) popular flagship phone, so there will probably be custom ROMs available for a long time (I just checked XDA - there is a Lollipop ROM for the 2010 HTC Desire)
