I'm shopping for a smartphone after a year of no celphone at all. I use gmail and want an Android phone.
I see Amazon has the Eris and the original Droid for $0.01 which sound like great deals. I don't need the latest & greatest - I just want something that is reliable for calls, email, Twitter/Facebook & mild surfing.
The Droid's keyboard doesn't seem like something I would use, but they seem to be the same size-wise. I figure with Swype a keyboard is prolly unnecessary, so the Eris - especially if I can pick up two - is fine.
Based on my needs and preference to not spend $100-200 on a phone, should I grab the Eris while it's still available? Or get a Droid? Or wait for a deal on the Incredible? Waiting is not an issue - I'll just spend the $100-200 I save on a phone on beer.
thanks!
