Should I even have music on my sd card?

If I have my music on the cloud is there any point in having it on my sd card? How much worse would my battery be by streaming from the cloud?

I hope you have unlimited data for streaming all that cloud music. And yes your battery will drop significantly while streaming compared to listening to music from your card.

Yep I have unlimited. I guess I'll just have to see how much my battery will suffer from it.

I like having all my music on my card or phone storage. Don't need a strong data connection and don't kill the battery. It really depends on the user though. My wife doesn't keep any music on her phone. She streams pandora so she would probably do the same with a personal music collection. But me on the other hand, I gotta have my music because I just never know where I will be and I won't get sufficient service to stream.

Yeah true. If anything I will just delete some movies because I rarely watch the movies on my card. Btw if I have play music it only streams when I am playing it correct?

Keep in mind that streaming audio is very compressed. Some of your higher quality MP3s may lose some audio quality.

I frequently use streaming ie Pandora slacker etc. But i also keep a music collection stored locally because i am not always in an area where streaming is possible. If you don't need offline access to your media then you should be fine.

I always at least keep a few of my favorite albums/songs on my SD card.

I use several streaming services but I also keep a bunch of music locally on my card. You never know when you might need music and not be able to get to the Internet.

Honestly, WTF?

Do you really need to have someone else's guidance on this?

If you want to have access to the songs when you don't have a network connection, put the songs on the local storage. If you don't, don't.

If you're not sure, try it both ways for a couple of days and see which way suits you.

Not trying to be a big prick (just a little one) but honestly, how are we to know what will work for you, with your usage pattern, your cell reception, etc.?

I do both. With the wide availability of 64GB microsd cards, I carry my music with me. This way I can carry higher bitrate / higher quality songs. For times when I just want background music I also like to stream Pandora, etc.
