Should I get a new phone NOW or wait till new ones come out?

I personally hate Motorola now.
Care to explain?

Also, you do realize that it is a completely different company now that Google owns it, yes? The senior management is different, they laid off huge numbers of employees, company philosophy is different, etc.

The CEO now is from Google, not oldskool motorola. The only thing the same about Motorola today compared to pre-Google is the name and the patents.

I know that! But Google had already bought them when they were about to release Android 4.0 for my Photon 4G and at the last minute they backed down! Freaking pendejos! So now stupid Motorola and HP are in my hate list.
I don't recommend their products and tell people who ask me to get something else.
I'm not saying I will never buy again from them. But it'll probably take a long, looooonggg time for me to even consider one of their products.

Just in case you wonder about HP. Because they killed webOS. And I just mentioned them because only those 2 companies are in my hate list.

What about Microsoft? Microsoft has absolutely no redeeming qualities at all, lol!

I got burned by Samsung with my GNex, but I don't hate them. Their radios are complete crap so I won't buy a Samsung phone again after my GNex and giving them a 2nd chance by trying the GNote3 and getting the same crap radios. But hey, if Samsung ever gets its act together and can make a radio that isn't crap, I will take a look at their product.

The radios aren't great, but they're not crap either. Carrier has more effect on signal.
Moto has the best radios by far, but everyone else is pretty even. iPhone radios might be crap though :p

Nope, side by side I had a GNote3, an iPhone 5 (which wasn't even the latest iPhone model) and a Moto X in a weak signal area and both the iPhone 5 and Moto X could hold a 4G LTE signal and the GNote 3 could not. I moved all 3 phones around from position to position but nothing changed.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed at Motorola for that, too. And I still don't trust them. But I ended up getting the X anyway, because no one else was making a non-giant phone that runs Android 4.x and can be used for phone and data both in the US and overseas. I was planning on getting the S4 mini, and waited eagerly for Sprint to carry it, and was all set to make the purchase when I asked what bands it supported, and learned that it couldn't be used out of the country at all. (Sprint won't even unlock it.) I considered getting the unlocked European version, but even if I switched carriers so I could use it, it doesn't do fast data in the US, and I do mostly use the phone in the US. I sweated over it, but broke down and bought the d*** phone. I have to admit I am enjoying it, it has the best ergonomics of any phone I've used.

I don't resent HP. I hate the ***** president they had who destroyed Palm and nearly destroyed HP, but they did fire him. I don't know if HP will recover -- it seems unlikely -- but I wish them well.

You right about Microsoft, but they haven't done stupid stuff to me as those two I mentioned before.

About radios you're right, Motorola has the best I've seen, Nokia too by the way.

But everywhere I go with my GS4 (which is my first Samsung phone) I get the same 3G signal I used to get with my Photon.
Si on that regard I'm fine, and since I get better LTE than I did Wimax, I'm actually happier!

My Sprint GS4 is ready to use in other countries with GSM carriers. But I see you want something smaller.

I have used my friend's X and played with the live X displays in the stores.

They're ok, but for me, they can't hold a candle to my Galaxy S4!

Btw, about HP, I get your point, and yes, I hate stupid idioteker. But HP after firing idioteker could've keep on going with webOS and they didn't!
That's why I still hate them. And if I ever encounter idioteker I will punch him on the face and on the nuts, if he has any! 😲😆

and you would be charged and convicted of felony assault and if you have any assets, sued and lose those too.

How you can feel hate over company executives making a business decision that you disagree with when there are so many violent criminals in the world more deserving of your hate, I don't understand.

It was a business decision and it wasn't about YOU. Get over it. And save your hate for people who deserve to be hated, not people who make bad business decisions.

Oh I hate violent crime of course!
But I still will kick idioteker's rear if I ever see him.
And no, nobody will convict me because I'm not stupid to do this in front of people!

yeah, my husband has a galaxy s4. He likes it, but it was larger than I wanted to carry around. I seriously considered the phone, but every time I picked up my husband's I thought, "####, this feels big." :-)

It was too late, webOS was already dead. They did the best they could by it at that point.

You know, I also thought it was too big for a phone until I kept a hold of it for like a minute. Than I knew this phone was for me.

My wife has used my phone several times and she also didn't like it at first, now she's thinking she'll be alright with my phone if I get the Note 3.

About webOS, many people think that. But remember, Palm came back from the ashes. HP at that moment was a huge company with enough resources to make great webOS hardware.

But they were so dumb-dumbs on making mobile hardware and got scared about not making it on that area, they took the easy road. Shame on them! 😡

It was the opposite for me, minus the Moto X. We took a trip to Vegas and the whole way there my GS4 would have 2-4 bars more than my sister's iPhone 5. At times she would be on EDGE and I would have 1-2 bars of HSPA+
At home I have full bars of LTE and she gets 2-3

So I am an owner of Droid Maxx HD and i have ran into a couple of problems that needs to be fixed. Problem is I am off of the verizon warranty BUT motorola warranty still in effect so I would ship my device over to Motorola with no loaner... I have a couple of options i see that are feasible (more suggestions would be welcome!)
1. get a new phone - I am currently interested in the new Maxx, Note 3 and HTC One Max
2. a bit shady but.... express mail my phone to motorola, get a new phone and hope i can get my phone back within 14 days so i can just pay restock fee of new phone..

I am leaning towards 1 but is now a good time though? Arent there some awesome phones coming up? If you think i should go with 1... any recommendation on which device? I got maxx hd for the battery.. but the new maxx doesn't seem to get much love though?

thanks!

If you need a new phone get one. You cannot get some cheap phones off eBay that you could use in the mean time until your phone got shipped back and would probably be cheaper than buying through Verizon.
