But it is a Verizon Droid branded device. That means Motorola has to work closely with Verizon before it pushes an update because of all of the Verizon bloatware. Same with the Verizon Moto X, but since it has less Verizon branding because it is not a Droid, it gets the updates quicker. How come maxx don't get as many updates? Don't Google own motorola?

Have you used the G2?

Yes I have. I went on a road trip with a few buddies and one of them has the G2. It only outlasted my Ultra by a couple of hours...nowhere near what a MAXX gets.
If you don't work a desk job and WiFi tether a computer to your phone all day out in the field. When you will ever need that much battery though?![]()
I am right now poking around looking for an external battery, because I'm heading out, and I'm not sure my Moto X will make it through the day. I would love to have a lot more battery life. I've misplaced the external battery pack, though, so maybe I'll bring a charger, and feel like a dork when I ask a friend to plug my phone in at his house. When you will ever need that much battery though?

So I am an owner of Droid Maxx HD and i have ran into a couple of problems that needs to be fixed. Problem is I am off of the verizon warranty BUT motorola warranty still in effect so I would ship my device over to Motorola with no loaner... I have a couple of options i see that are feasible (more suggestions would be welcome!)
1. get a new phone - I am currently interested in the new Maxx, Note 3 and HTC One Max
2. a bit shady but.... express mail my phone to motorola, get a new phone and hope i can get my phone back within 14 days so i can just pay restock fee of new phone..
I am leaning towards 1 but is now a good time though? Arent there some awesome phones coming up? If you think i should go with 1... any recommendation on which device? I got maxx hd for the battery.. but the new maxx doesn't seem to get much love though?
thanks!
They are extremely different phones. The Note 3 is going to be very different from what you are used to with the Droid Razr Maxx HD. And if you are looking at specs, then you are looking at Motorola phones in the wrong way. Motorola is not playing the specs game. The specs of their phones may seem "worse" than others, but the actual performance of their phones is better than many of the other flagships. MORE CORES doesn't always mean a better phone.
Personally, I wouldn't touch a Note 3. I think Samsung phones are garbage, especially after having owned one and knowing others who have owned them. But that's my experience.

Probably Wednesday
Well, first off, the Droid Maxx is a verizon exclusive as is any Droid branded phone so that right there limits the units sold.ok so i finally got the droid maxx... It was a bit depressing seeing there was no accessories for it at bestbuy (or verizon).... it seems like a Samsung+Apple world out there man.
