Should I get a screen protector for the S7?

Hi all, I'm thinking of preordering this phone but I'm just wondering, will I need a screen protector if I use an all around case? How scratch prone are Samsung screens? I'm currently using a nexus 4 in a case but no screen protector and it's not got a scratch on it so was just wondering if the glass would still be ok without one on the s7.

Yes! I once had an otter box which is an all over case but their front cover has such a large gap that dirt and any kind of dust will get in there and scratch your screen. I'd suggest get a zagg invisibleshield

I use a screen protector on my Note 4, but more because of cracks and not scratches. They're pretty good at resisting scratches, but they will still get micro scratches after a while. If you use a tempered glass screen protector you won't even be able to tell the difference

I'll be putting a ZAGG (military grade) Invisashield on my S7. I have them on my S5 and my Galaxy Note 2014 Edition. The GN2014 has had it since Dec 2013 and the S5 since May of 2014. Both are still perfectly attached. For some reason I dug a fingernail into the ZAGG so hard that it left an indention. I knew it was supposed to be "self healing" and sure enough, in a few minutes it was back to normal :)

My husband and I both have S5s. I have a ZAGG Invisashield and he has an Otterbox on his. There is a difference in our screen color tone and his plastic screen cover is pretty scratched. But, he has to have the kind of protection it offers due to his job.

Ah ok, I just hate having to try to put screen protectors on as they usually don't go very well for me lol

Also, do we think the phone will come with any sort of screen protector already on it?

Ok thanks, well I've just placed my preorder so next mission is to find a good all around/flip cover case, any ideas?

Will that be any good to keep on do you think or does it just have to come off?
It covers the entire face including the earpiece and home button. I would remove it, or you can leave it on temporarily until you put on a screen protector. But it isn't really "usable"

I let Best Buy put my screen protectors on. If something goes wrong they redo it for free.

The Commuter line of otterbox cases don't have a built-in screen protector, so if they have one coming out for the S7, I do that with a tempered glass screen protector. You'd get the protection without losing the gorgeous display.

No. Screen protector will not save your phone from a drop and it looks ugly

This is also in the back of my mind, it's gonna look really nice and don't really wanna ruin it with a piece of rubbish plastic, hence why I thought a flip/wallet style case could work better as it then gets a flap over the front to protect it in pocket but no plastic on it

There is always a different opinion!
I have tempered glass on my phone and tablet. If I didnt tell you it was on there you would not know the difference, and tempered class will save screen in most cases. For all present and future smartphones and tablets, I don't DARE use them without tempered glass and a protective case! That is only speaking for myself.
BTW, with tempered glass shield I have went to Best Buy and compared to like phone with no screen, I saw no difference!

That is a flawed remark to make. It can, and has for some if you have a very good glass screen protector on. Doesn't mean in all drops, but it has in some. They don't look ugly either. I don't notice mine.

In addition: I rather have one and not need it, than needing one and not having it. Peace of mine and really helps with scratches.

I never had screen protector. I think good, quality case will do better job of protecting my phone's screen than screen protector.
