looking for some advice... currently, I am on sprint and I have the Samsung galaxy s II epic 4g touch. I'm sick of sprint and I hate my phone. I have decided that I want another HTC phone (I loved my evo and I just cant get used to an android phone without sense) and I want to switch to AT&T. So naturally, HTC Vivid comes to mine. Problem is I have gone to the att store and played around with it a few times and I am not impressed by it. Do you guys think I should wait for a different htc phone to come to att or should I just grab a vivid? I'm really interested in finding out what happens with the HTC Supreme / Ville / Edge.

So that's it... that's my issue any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check out this thread, it may help.

Also, keep in mind that the working models at the AT&T store are usually sluggish at best. To get the most realistic experience with it, you should try rebooting the display phone to clear out the memory first.

You are absolutely correct! I hadn't thought about rebooting it before I messed around with it. I've been to 4 diff stores and I was really turned off by how sluggish the browser is. Its just terrible how much it studders. In actuality, I was suprised at how nice the screen looked compared to the evo and evo3d i had previously but what turned me off was weak the loud speaker was and how slow and choppy the browser is. A reboot should help with the choppyness but I hate phones with loud speakers that suck. The loud speaker on the vivid reminded me of the one of the evo3d which is terrible. I the one in the evo was great. Thanks I will be sure to do the reboot. Can you shed some light on the htc supreme/zeta?

I've decided to wait and see if at&t is going to match Verizons buy 2gb gets 4 deal. Anybody know if they have plans of doing this?

I love my Vivid and recommend it highly. It's blazing fast and has plenty of storage space. Battery life is decent, though I recommend charging it regularly. The one thing you Must have is a good case: Seidio Active or Otterbox Defender at minimum, because this phone will Not hack a 4 foot drop to the pavement, as I found out the hard way. Replacement of such a busted phone will cost you another $199, which is the insurance deductible with AT&T's insurance plan. Darn it, that's like paying the upgrade price all over again. Save yourself that heartache and get a good case from the jump.

I have decided to stick w/ sprint until I figure out a way to get unlimited data or at least until they decide to match verizons offer of pay for 2 get 4. The 4gb data plan is too expensive and the 2gb plan is a joke.

You know, you honestly just have to go to the store, play with the various phones AT&T offers, and then decide which one is right for you. Whether you choose the Vivid, the Skyrocket, or even the Nitro HD, you'll be getting a fantastic device to play with. I chose the Vivid because I enjoy HTC Sense and HTC's camera application, among other things. I had no real reason to "wait" as people so often do because something new is always coming out and you'll be behind at some point. I have had no problems at all with the Vivid and would recommend it, but you'll have to see for yourself and pick which one you like. Good luck!

@sportsinger75 i decided to get the vivid so its not the phone im worried about. I can't deal with only 2gb of data. That's why im waiting.

They do have a 4GB plan, too. My wife has it on her Inspire. Price, last time I checked was $50/month.

Yeah but its too expensive. Im trying to find someone who works there and will be willing to hook me up. With unlimited data.

OTOH, the overage charge with the 2G plan is only 10$ per gig. It's not 4 for 2, but at least you would know that going over the limit isn't a killer.
