hi guys.i am currently using a HP Omen 15 laptop.and Samsung's Galaxy Tab S4 caught my eye.

but i mean can the Tab S4 replace my laptop?(aside from gaming and video editing).

i will mostly use it for Microsoft Office stuff(Excel,Powerpoint,Word).

i kinda thought of it because its sleek and it seems to be a powerhouse.

*update*
The Indonesian Version uses Exynos 8895 with Android 7.1 and costs around USD$650.

i hope someone could give me a solid feedback.not some bs nonsense reply. xD

Are you comfortable typing on a glass screen, not a keyboard? (It's totally different. I'd be using a tab and an external keyboard, which kind of defeats portability.)

Do you need a lot of storage (hard drive on the HP - which can be expanded - internal storage for apps which can't be on a tab)?

Do you need speed and processing power? You won't get even the power and speed of a good notebook on a tab. (And if the notebook has ever frustrated you because it's taking too long, it's going to take a lot longer on a tab.)

If you drop something on a closed notebook, you chop the paint. If you drop something on a tab - it can't be "closed" - you break the screen.

There are a lot of cases in which a particular tab is a lot better than a notebook - and a lot in which it's a lot worse. As a pure computer, for power and speed, it's definitely worse.

Short answer... If you know your requirements and expectations then you can surely select a device that will meet or exceed them.

List out the requirements then check each against the Tab S4 capabilities. It's simple really. You know your requirements and expectations better than anyone else.

Best wishes.

The samsung keyboard book case is the best keyboard for the Tab S4. Sleek look while providing protection plus a pen cap for the Spen. I won't use any other keyboard with my Tab S4.

Really low interest for Tab S4 in the forum, so few threads and postings

Tell you the truth I'm sorry i bought it. I haven't found it better than my tab s2's so far, except for the battery and charging and usbc vs. usb micro, and in fact i like the old screen dimensions better, nor have i fiund a use for Dex so far. I already returned the keyboard case. My hands are too big for it. I like my bluetooth Logitech k810 much better, and i bought a nice inexpensive case that props up at various angles on amazon.

I came from the Tab S3. Battery on this is way better. I also prefer the usb-c and the on-screen-buttons rotating with the screen. Double tap to wake is a nice addition and the intelligent-scan works well.

Tab S3 is also USB-C right? I also like this much more than Tab S3

Tab S3 is usb-c, I had the Tab S2 8.0 LTE too and that one had micro-usb. My mistake. The Tab s4 also has 64 gb of internal storageI while the Tab s3 only has 32. I am happy with mine and got a free charging-dock by registering my purchase at samsung.com

I got the S4 with 256 internal storage.

Maybe I'll like it more as I become more familiar with its capabilities.
