Should I get the nexus 6 or wait for new nexus In the fall???

I just purchased a Nexus 6 because I'm 3-4 weeks out for my project fi invite and my HTC One m8 went for a swim in a pool.
I could not be happier with my decision. I've done a few tweaks to make it a little more one-hand friendly like setup swype to use a smaller footprint on the screen and install LMT to make the back button a little easier to hit.

The device is buttery smooth and runs laps around what my m8 was capable of. The choice is completely yours, but as others have said.. If you want a 6" screen and don't mind not having some of the "rumored" features that are coming to the next nexus(s), then you'll have a great phone on your hands.

To be fair, I'm still in the first week of the honeymoon with my new phone so I could be looking at things with rose-tinted glasses

I'm 8 months in and I still have no major complaints... just a couple of minor quibbles. Great phone.

Definitely wait. You've already waited this long might as well wait a bit more. The next nexus will be better that's a given.

My opinion....

Assuming Google lowers the cost on the 2015 It wouldn't be unreasonable to think that the Nexus 6 and Nexus 2015 could be around the same price. The Nexus 6 may even be cheaper.

In my mind, I've always liked Moto hardware, so that gives the Nexus 6 the advantage, along with a bigger screen.

I don't know what goodies the Nexus 2015 may have, but smartphones are getting to the point of offering diminishing returns and a newer processor and more RAM will not have the same impact that they did a few years earlier.

With that said, I may still get the Nexus 2015, but it would need to offer the same carrier compatibility that the Nexus 6 offers---meaning it could be used on all North American carriers.

I can't tell you how nice it is knowing that you can take your phone and use it anywhere on any network in the US.

If it was feasible that the Nexus 2015 could combine all the radio bands of the current Nexus 6 US AND International version, I would get it simply to have an unlocked phone that could be used virtually anywhere in the world.

My thoughts exactly. Hard to get excited about a few milliseconds of a speed bump. :D

I may check out the new Nexus in June (when I got the Nexus 5 & Nexus 6) after they work out the bugs.

Nexus 6. Because none of the other options exist in reality yet.

The choice is ultimately yours. If you want to hold out because you don't NEED a new phone at the moment, go ahead and wait for the rumors to hopefully become reality. Most likely, you won't be disappointed.

On the other hand, if you went with the Nexus 6 now, most likely, you won't be disappointed.

Nexus 6 is a great device with longevity. I expect the next Nexus device(s) to carry on the tradition. So base your decision more on when you want a new phone as opposed to which one.

I would get the Nexus 6 now. The price dropped and you can get all the accessories you want. Plus, the Nexus phones dropping this fall will be smaller. Step back in my opinion unless you prefer smaller. Regardless, its your choice but Nexus 6 is very much future proof.

We're talking about a size difference of less than three tenths of an inch. Good Lord, people, those of you that are saying no to the next phablet because it'll be "smaller", get a grip. People are taking this size issue too far. It's a phone ffs, not "something else". Chill out, wait til the phones are out, then decide.

I would get the N6 now. The new one is most likely going to support 64-bit, faster CPU and such which sounds great on paper and benchmark test but its going to feel the same as other phones out now.

I'm only waiting so the N6 price drops. Then I'll pick up the N6. Motorola always have had the best builds and great reception.

That's another good point and a concern I have, the radios and reception on the Huawei Nexus. I would think the price of the 6 will drop to $400.00 for the 64 GB, which is a great price for what you get, especially the awesome speakers.

As much as I hate the g3 with the lollipop update, I'll deal with it and when the new Nexus shows up, I hope the price of the N6 drops by $100 then I'll pick it up.

No,why don't you chill out. Some people happen to like the size as is, and don't want a smaller phone. Don't tell us what to do and how to feel.

Practice what you preach. Lol

The only real differences you will notice between the two generations will be the screen and the feel of it in your hand. There will be some bells and whistles added (fingerprint scanner?), but most likely nothing you can live without. Unless you really crave the latest and greatest. If you like the size and feel of the N6 then definitely go for it.

You can also wait until the next Nexus comes out and make your choice then. There will be even more N6's in the market as people upgrade and re-sell their old phones. You can get a N6 for a real sweet price or get one of the 2015 Nexus phones then.

Mod Note - Let's keep it on topic and remember to follow P.U.P.P.A.H. Thanks :).

Well you might as well wait, see what these new nexus's have to offer. If they don't suit your needs, the nexus 6 will still be there in all its glory. :)

I am thinking about getting nexus 6 too. But does anyone remember if the nexus 5 dropped in price last year before nexus 6 came out (hence the same pattern this this year) or this is lowest the nexus 6 will get?

My guess is that it will bottom out at around $399. At least for a while.
