Im trying to decide between the z5 compact an z3. Been looking at videos and they both pretty much look the same.

Just wondered would people recommed the newer z5 over the z3 compact?

Z5c. I carry the Z3 Compact now and enjoy it, but I've had a couple hardware failures that are frustrating. First, the magnetic charging area came off - the magnetic charger I was using was stronger than the adhesive. Second is a headphone jack failure that makes it such that I can't stick it into my pocket without the phone thinking I've unplugged the headset and thus stopping whatever I'm trying to play. And, the bluetooth in the commercial Marshmallow build has been wonky, thus making listening to stuff (including work phone calls) somewhat dicey. :-(

I loved the phone for the first year, but now I'd recommend getting the Z5c over the Z3c.

Ive had both and now have the z5c, the micro USB not being covered makes it worth it alone.

As much as I think the Z3C looks much better, I'd suggest the Z5C, mainly because it's more guaranteed to get the next updates. There's also the uncovered usb port as mentioned, so you won't have to worry about the cover breaking as with the Z3C

I had the Z3C and now have the Z5C.. The Z5C is the MUCH better phone and it's not even close! You can get the Z3C much cheaper though if that's a consideration. If you can afford the Z5C then get it...

Just got a z5c under my warranty after my z3c had the sudden death problem. Only had it a couple of days but I think i prefer it. While the magnetic charger seems a great idea, going back to a USB is a lot better. Fingerprint scanner is a welcome addition as is shooting a picture in superior auto at 20mp. Overall I think it's better as your getting better hardware plus that was mentioned about you should get Android N with it. However if money is a factor then go with z3c as it's more than capable phone.

In fact there's nothing out there at the moment with the same specifications as these two phones. Really hoping Sony makes a similar phone as I don't want a 5" phone, these are perfect size.

Never owned a Z3c but there's nothing else out there which offers a similar camera, battery life, screen quality, water proofing and hardware in such a small body the way the Z5 compact does.
