Fingerprint location is terrible.

Only if you have small hands, or hate rear fingerprint sensors in general. I have no issue with the location. It did take me a week or so to get used to the location coming from an S7 edge, but I can comfortably unlock my Note 8 and do so just as quickly as my S7 edge if not faster. Front fingerprint unlocks always require some thumb gymnastics or a regrip of the phone, and I don't have to do that with the Note 8 location. I can see it being an issue for a person with small hands though. My wife has small hands and does the iris unlock.

Redundant Samsung/Google apps.

Why is this a con when you can disable the app you don't want to use? In fact, some would argue it's a pro because you have a choice. This feels more like nitpicking than an actual con.

Your Edge toolbox comment just goes to show how much most of these types of discussions end up as personal preference. I could care less about the duplicate apps, although I would be fine if they removed them; however, if they are going to remove them, then I feel they should remove the edge apps and anything else extra. Most of that stuff is disabled on my phone and I doubt I am alone.

No small hands here and it is easier to find than the S8, but... you scan your print and start typing a message, what happens in between? That's right, you have to adjust your grip. An intuitive print scanner provided by other Android phone manufacturers don't have this problem.

As far as redundant apps go, I don't want to have to dig through someone else's garbage to decide what apps I want to keep. Sure I can disable them, but they shouldn't be on my brand new phone to begin with. That problem doesn't exist on the iPhone X.

Ordered about 5-6 cases, charging cords, convertible wireless charger and a 256 GB micro SD card.

I went a little overboard and spent in upwards of $300. I like to accessorize though as I also like to switch cases quite frequently. My wife will probably hang me when they arrive today as I am at work right now but what are you gonna do. Can't say it's the first time she will have given me the "stank eye". It's my cross to bear. Ha ha.

I love that you ordered a bunch of cases! Being prepared for a new device with a bunch of new accessories is always the way to go! Good luck when you go home to your parcels and your wife holding said parcels!

Everything i have is apple based but yet i use the Note 8. My iPhone X is nice but its boring. I just use my iPhone for Apple play in my car and an alternate phone for work.

Well, it looks like you have been inundated with replies for this one. I would just like to add that you may want to think about posting this question on an objective website. Going on a forum generated from “Android Central” and asking if you should use an IOS or an Android device probably isn’t going to give you the most accurately informed buffet of answers to help you make your choice. However, you may get lucky and find a response that gives you exactly what you need to choose one way or the other. I am someone who used nothing but android devices for years. Ever since my first real smartphone many years ago. The HTC droid incredible. Since that time I flirted with the idea of using an iPhone many times. I could never fully commit and would get scared and run back to Android justifying it by telling myself, “ Hey self... you have no customization options with the iPhone. The specs for the iPhone are weak compared to flagship android devices and I don’t want to be trapped in Apples ecosystem.” Then last year I purchased an iPad Pro 10.5. I also purchased the Apple Pencil and keyboard to go with it. I loved it(still do actually). Then I went for it and also purchased the iPhone 7 Plus red edition which I linked/synced to my IPad Pro. It was then I began to see how incredible Apple and it’s products are, especially when working in conjunction with one another. Then finally, last week, I myself had to make the same choice you are asking for help with. I wanted a new device and the 2 best options for me were the iPhone X and the Note 8. I Havel always adored the Galaxy Note series. I have owned every single one up until the 8. They are amazing devices in many ways. I just think that Apple has perfected their craft with the release of the IPhone X. I opted to go with that instead of the Note 8. It really is a work of art with performance enhancements that put it probably 2 years ahead of the competition. It does everything smart, efficient and consistent. It checks all the right boxes. Even if you are just simply used to the Android operating system and the thought of switching platforms is keeping you from switching..... Know this, IOS was created to be user friendly for everyone and you will pick it up quickly and most likely end up liking it. In my opinion the Galaxy Note 8 is great, it’s just that the iPhone X is better. As the saying goes..” It just is what it is”...

there's the problem really, it's only good if you also have everything else Apple, you would probably have all that have to offer plus MORE if you went with everything Samsung BUT at a much cheaper price.
I would love to try and live with an iPong X for a while but the fact it cost the same or there abouts as my two Note 8 makes it a no go

They're both great devices and I have two iPhone Xes. The Note 8 will keep you entertained with all it's doodads. However, if you're into using screen protectors that's going to be more of a challenge with the Note 8 as a lot of the tempered glass offerings really molest the device's touch sensitivity. You'd also lose iMessage and for many that wouldn't be insignificant. Perhaps you could find a way to try a Note 8 for a week or so while you still have your iPhone and decide what YOU like better.

I would have no problem recommending it but I went the opposite way. Jumped from my awesome Note 8 to Apple's best phone yet. I don't regret it. Both are equally impressive in different ways but at the end of the day the X felt better in my hand than the Note. Since it's a handheld device, that was so important it broke the tie.

Hand feel is important. But, there are other really nice phones that don't feel quite the same as the Note, including the S8.S8+ and the Pixel. These are phones in the same range as the iPhone X, so if Mahender Shahani is looking to switch, on this I would do is to go into a store and actually HOLD one of these devices.

Couldn't agree more. The first week I enjoyed the phone being smaller but quickly outgrew that. And driving and having to stare at the phone when face id acts up is annoying too

I too would recommend the 8 line over the X. Way less expensive (the X is over $1300 in Canada!) and more "iPhone-like."

If you have money to burn, then sure, jump from your brand new iPhone X to the Android Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the same year. but seriously... Samsung makes great display s for the iPhone X... I'd wait a year or two.

I'm writing on my Note 8 now, and it is terrific. One unresolved issue is that Apple's music service on Android, called 'Apple Music' is not compatible for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the Canadian Google Play store. The app can't be found... and that is odd, considering it works on my Note 8.

My only Apple phone was a 4S... I uploaded my cd Library to iTunes, bought a tonne of digital music, and have paid for the streaming service the last two years. I wouldn't dare risk uninstalling iTunes, because I don't know if I could install it again... unless...

unless there was once an update through my old PC, direct from Apple.

Short answer - No Apple Music services on Android right now.....

Husband gave me that eye when I got my last motorcycle lol. Sold it to get into my new charger so when I get another bike I'm sure I'll get that look again.
