Android Central Question

I am currently using a Huawei sensa on straight talk. As you are aware these phones do not get updated to newer version of Android so I'm still using marshmallow. My question is whether I should keep my apps updated since I'm running several version behind in Android? My thought process is maybe some of these updates will not play well with marshmallow. What do you think?

I would not turn on the auto-update.

Normally I would say yes to the general rule of keeping the apps up to date, but you bring up an interesting situation.

In theory, the Play Store should not offer you app updates that are not compatible with your phone and android version.

Not only won't you update to a version of an app that requires a higher version of Android than you're running, you won't see it if you look for it. You'll update as far as the phone is capable of updating, then that's it. But it's always better to leave auto-update enabled.
